Description
Admire the opulent Royal Apartments and private family bedrooms within Osborne House. View the twin desks where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert worked and explore the elaborately decorated Durbar Room. The furniture and artifacts provide insight into the entertainment and daily life at Osborne, from state banquets to family meals. Currently, only the lower floor of Osborne House is open to visitors.
Discover the Swiss Cottage, where the royal children played and tended their gardens. One room is preserved as it was on 11 July 1861, when the children prepared afternoon tea shortly before Prince Albert’s death.
Stroll through the pleasure gardens, historic trees, and the Victorian Walled Garden as the royal couple did. Visit the privately guarded beach, including Victoria’s restored bathing machine.
Note: From 9 November to 16 March (excluding 27 December - 1 January and 15 February - 23 February), access to the house is by guided tours only. Tours cannot be pre-booked; visitors are allocated to the next available tour upon arrival. Only the ground floor of the house and the grounds are open during this period.

Important Information
- Last entry to the site is two hours before closing. Exchange your voucher for a ticket at the ticket office at least two hours before closing.
- The Family Ticket admits two adults and up to three children aged 5 to 17.
- On closed dates, the site may still be open; check English Heritage for details.
- From 9 November to 16 March (excluding specified dates), house access is by guided tours only, assigned upon arrival.
- Only the ground floor and grounds are accessible during the guided tour period.
