Claiming to be the only authentic Spanish tapas bar on the Isle of Wight, and being praised for being it too, El Toro Contento serves up plenty of Spanish treats with a warming smile (and warming fire too) in its cosy little restaurant. Right in the heart of Ventnor, chefs Lorraine, Serafin, Alfonsa, Nell and Patxi all strive to provide the best authentic and homemade Spanish food and drink possible on the island with tapas, selections of Spanish meats, cheeses, paella, wines, beers and liquors.
Most of the food on the menu is imported directly from Spain for extra authenticity, but local island produce is also used. El Toro aim to provide natural, healthy dishes at a reasonable price to everyone who walks in the door.
Paella is made fresh to order, so please note that booking in advance is necessary if you wish to try their mixed meat and fish, seafood or vegetarian paellas.
