The Spyglass Inn

The Spyglass Inn, in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, is steeped in history, being perhaps the oldest building on the Esplanade dating from around 1830. As you approach The Spyglass Inn with it's superb terrace directly on the waters edge, you can't help but be impressed by the wonderful location. For centuries it has been the haunt of smugglers with contraband from the French coast only a few hours sail away.

Upon entering The Spyglass, you will be intrigued by the enormous collection of seafaring memorabilia accumulated by the owners, Neil & Steph Gibbs.

FOOD

Food at the Spyglass Inn is a key feature at the pub. We source much of our produce from local fisherman, farmers and other suppliers. To be able to sit outside the Spyglass overlooking the sea eating a fresh lobster salad is one of the Islands greatest pleasures! We are particularly proud of our homemade specials board which regularly feature local fish shellfish and many meat dishes.

BEER & WINE

We have an extensive bar selection including draught lagers, Guinness & ciders, spirits soft drinks and coffee. We carried a varied wine list and pride ourselves on our real ale selection which include many beers from local breweries.

LIVE MUSIC

The Spyglass Inn offers live entertainment most days of the week. From classical guitar, to folk and traditional jazz there is something to suit everyone.

The music usually starts at around 8.30pm in the evening and 1.00pm at lunchtime. In the summer, bands will often play outside in our newly renovated 'Boathouse'.
