The trip across the Solent is an adventure in itself on one of the world’s busiest stretches of water – with ships large and small to spot on the way. 1. Gunwharf, Portsmouth to Ryde Pier, IOW... catamaran for travelling by foot - 22 minutes.
2. Gunwharf, Portsmouth to Fishbourne, IOW... vehicle ferry - 40 minutes.
3. Lymington, Hampshire to Yarmouth, IOW... vehicle ferry - 35 minutes.
